A look around British Airways new 777



I got the chance to have a look around the new British Airways new product to arrive to and from Australia. British Airways will run 4, 777 with a total re-fit on the London – Sydney leg, via Singapore.

Before getting on the plane BA has reserve it’s self one of the best gates in Sydney International Terminal. Gate number 10, which is just out of duty free and the first gate to the left.

The plane is an extended 777-300ER with an extra 33 foot additional sector.
It’s 23% quieter and 23% more fuel efficent/seat than a 747-400
All bathrooms are 56 inches, and helpful for customers with restricted mobility
50% more movies and 200% more TV and audio

In sydney; Access to first class is via a private entrance, however the rest of the passengers enter in front a business class and work back.

Leg room is a bit smaller by about 3 inches compared to some carriers/aircraft

Plastic back so you never feel that book or knee in your back

Business – 56 seats

All of the above plus;
Full flat bed seat, electrical controlled, fits 6 foot
Foot rest can be slight incline to fit 6ft 6!
Window seat are very private for individual traveler
Access in and out of the window seats through the next passenger area, difficult in full flat bed mode
The two middle seat are perfect for couples
Half of the passenger are travelling facing the rear, I have be told its strange on take off and landing, but once in the air you are blissfully unaware who is travelling facing the rear

Electric blind for the 2 middle seat for privates

The in flight entertainment is available straight away and during take off
A great up dated aircraft for British Airways and one of the best gates at Sydney international airport. the new aircraft is perfect timing for them going solo on the old kangaroo route.
